MY Friendship Momento

This is my version of Monica's "Friendship Momento". I couldn't find heart forms anywhere, so I used a standard wreath styrofoam form. I followed, as best I could, her tutorial...et voila! What makes mine a special, to me, is the vintage lace ribbon tied at the top, which was part of an antique wedding gown piece sent to me from...Monica! I realized, after I took the pictures, that I still have some cleaning of the glue gun "cobwebs" to take care of. OOPS :-)

Me, in a nutshell

Welcome :-)
I'm Kimberly: an (almost) 46 year old mother of four wonderful children ages 10, 11, 17 & 21. I birthed the first and third children and inherited the second and fourth when I married my amazing husband, John. My kids and I left the urban streets of Danbury and headed for suburban Cheshire a year and a half ago and are all finally getting into the groove of this major lifestyle change...not to mention the adjustments that accompany blending two families.
I am a diehard thrifter, an avid crafter and possess a creative spirit that often surpasses my skills....not that I let that discourage me from constantly tackling new projects. One of the many reasons I am so grateful for the abundance of unbelieveably talented bloggers, from whom I can "borrow" some inspiration when my own is lacking. I love fashion, but cannot stomach the highway robbery commited by most retail stores. Fortunately, there are alternatives for shoppers, like myself who derive great satisfaction from frequenting thrift shops, consignment stores and tag sales.
My blog, which I started several years ago as a therapeutic venue to "dump" the stressors and calamities of single-motherhood is a bit of a hodge podge of musings, projects, decorating, recipes & fashion finds. As the course of my life bobs and weaves, so does the content of my blog. It is my fervent wish that those who care to join me enjoy the ride as much as I do!
